About Dogbark.

Dogbark provides space on server computers to get your website active on the internet, as well as a friendly customer service staff ready to answer your calls, emails, or Instant Messages.

You can learn more about the dogbark staff here. Just look at those faces, the question should be; Why shouldn't I trust them?

The answer to that will always be NO. You won't get a computerized voice, but you will reach a friendly person on the other line who is willing to do all they can to assist you in any way possible. You won't have to sit, shake, or rollover to get the best service around.

By "Mac Friendly" we mean we love macs... and our servers are UNIX based not windows based. However you can still work on windows machines and use windows programs to create your site, manage your account, get email, etc.

Our Services.

Please check out our list of services. Most of our customers use the "Basic" plan, but it really depends on what you want to do with your website.

  • Storage: This is the amount of space your site will take up size wise. If you don't have any idea what that would be give us a call and we can help you figure it out. Remember you can always upgrade if you need more space or downgrade if you need less.
  • POP Accounts: These are the amount of POP email accounts you will have available. You can think of this as a mailbox, you can have more then one recipient to each POP, but it will all go to the same mailbox.
  • Traffic: Traffic is the amount of hits or visits you get to your site. Every time someone accesses your site they download information, all of this adds up to equal the amount of traffic bandwidth you are using. This is measured in MB or GB. If this all seems crazy to you here is a brief overview.
  • Alias: An alias service will give you a second or third domain name with the same content as the first domain name you have hosting services for. For example... you already have www.1234.com hosted with dogbark, you want another site named www.onetwothreefour.com to look exactly like www.1234.com content wise but have the name www.onetwothreefour.com when someone types it into their browser.
  • Redirect: A redirect will redirect one domain name to a certain part of another hosted website. For example... you have www.1234.com hosted with dogbark. You want www.onetwothreefour.com to point to www.1234.com/onetwothreefour/index.html. So with the redirect when someone types in www.onetwothreefour.com into their browser window, the browser is going to change the URL to say www.1234.com/onetwothreefour/index.html.

Of course you can, you can have as much as you want.

Software.

We recommend DreamWeaver, but any program will do.

We are Apple Mail fiends if you are a Mac user, or Thunderbird if you use a PC, but any program will do the job.

Yes but please see the next question...
